Join WITHIN Meditation teacher Jonathan Borella for an hour of inspiration and conversation about living your practice in the world. This event is part of our monthly series of online gatherings about “How Mindfulness Can Change Your Life.” In each, you'll meet other students in our global community, and be inspired by one of our favorite teachers.
Jonathan will share how deepening his mindfulness practice day by day led him to commit to an ethical path of compassion, generosity, sexual integrity, deep listening and loving speech, and responsible consumption. As mindfulness wakes him up to who he really is, and what life really is, these precepts are both a natural expression of insight and nutrients for that insight to open and blossom.
How to Join and What to Expect
This event will be held 10-11am PDT on Sunday July 11th. We'll use Zoom to gather online together; a link to join will be emailed to you 15 minutes in advance. We recommend joining via computer or tablet (vs phone), so you can see the other participants and the event leader easily.
You'll also want to have a journal or other writing materials on-hand. Other than that, come as you are!
Registration is through Eventbrite. Suggested donation is $10, but any amount you give directly supports Jonathan and WITHIN Meditation.
If you’re a WITHIN member, this event is included in your membership! Email us at sit@withinmeditation.com for the promo code or to learn more about becoming a member.
Jonathan is inspired by sharing mindfulness practices with people seeking to develop their innate resilience and live integrated lives with kindness and wisdom. Suffering shared is half the suffering. Joy shared is twice the joy.
Jonathan was ordained by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh into the Order of Interbeing in 2013. In his 15 years of practice, he has been a community builder for local Sanghas, organized monastic tours, offered practices and teaching at several monasteries and practice centers around the U.S. and Vietnam, and created mindfulness programs for college students, teens, families in crisis, prisoners, social workers, and corporate employees.
Following a year long training at Deer Park Monastery, Jonathan moved to Ukiah, California to start the Sugarplum Sangha, a residential mindfulness community that offers daily meditation sessions and retreats on campus and online. Jonathan's favorite mindfulness practices are pottery, tea, aikido, and eating.
