Half-Day Online Meditation Retreat

  • WITHIN Meditation (Online) (map)

Do you feel life becoming busier and busier these days? As we begin seeing one another in person again after so many months of isolation, the speed at which reopening is happening can be overwhelming. It's quite a change from what we've been used to over the last year plus!

And yet, perhaps you're also sensing that this is a really powerful time.  We’ve learned so much in the past year, and we now have the chance rebuild our lives using those lessons we learned. With a little extra reflection now, you can make choices about what you do next that will allow you to create a life that is even more present, engaged, and alive than it was before the pandemic.

In this half-day meditation retreat, you'll give yourself a breather from the busy-ness, and reflect on what's working, what isn't, and what you want to bring into this next phase of your life. Led by WITHIN Meditation Cofounder Hannah Knapp, the retreat will include:

  • Guided and unguided meditation

  • Journaling and reflection

  • Group sharing and discussion

To help you go deep and come out of this experience with clarity about the changes you want to make in your life, the group is limited to just 8 people. Each person will have the opportunity to share, be heard, and ask questions of Hannah, and of the group.

About the Retreat Facilitator

Hannah Knapp has been meditating since 2012, when she dove in head-first with a 10-day Vipassana retreat. It was during that retreat that she realized she was ready for the adventure of pregnancy and parenting. Coming out of that experience, she knew she needed a community to practice with: there was just nothing like meditating with other people. Her passion for sharing the power of mindfulness has led her to launch (and lead) group meditations wherever she’s worked, and to start WITHIN Meditation.

Through mindfulness, she’s developed a deep resilience, focus, and capacity to love that she draws on every day, both as the mom of two young children and as a start-up founder. As a wellness coach, she integrates mindfulness with positive psychology and nutrition to help her clients meet their health goals and develop the inner resilience they need to embrace life's challenges. She’s delighted to be leading meditation sessions in our online studio and in companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and across the country, while building an amazing team of teachers at WITHIN.

What To Expect & How To Prepare

When you register, Hannah will email you with the Zoom link to join, and several questions to reflect on in advance.

On the day of the retreat, you'll want to find a quiet space where you can be undisturbed for the full 3.5 hours, and set up a comfortable place to sit. Bring a journal and something to write with, and be sure to have water/tea and snacks nearby. You might also like to have a blanket.

On Saturday morning, we'll gather via Zoom at 9:30am PDT. Hannah will set the tone for the retreat with a brief talk and guided meditation, followed by periods of journaling/reflection, discussion, and unguided meditation. You may turn off your camera if you wish when we meditate, but will need to be on-camera during the group discussions. In the course of our time together, we'll take several breaks so that you can make yourself tea or refill your water, and have a snack.

At the end of the retreat, you'll be invited to make a clear commitment about how you're stepping into this next phase of your life. We will end by 1pm PDT.

Who Should Come

This retreat is open to all. If you've been building a meditation practice for just a few weeks, for several years, or anything in-between, you'll appreciate the clarity and stillness that come from sitting for longer periods of time, and engaging with others in a safe space.

This half-day retreat is not recommended if you have never practiced with guidance from a teacher in the mindfulness traditions (Zen or Vipassana) or are uncomfortable sharing about your personal challenges and intentions.

What It Costs

What If I Can't Join Live? Will This Be Recorded?

If you're interested in this retreat, but are unable to make it live on June 26th, we would still love to have you experience it! Hannah will be recording the meditation sessions and reflection prompts, which you can use to do your own private meditation retreat.

Just choose the registration option "Retreat Recording (No Live Access)" and we'll email you the recording the following day. You can then do the retreat on your own schedule anytime in the following 7 days. The recording will be available to you until 8am PDT on Monday 6/28.

Please note the recording will not include the discussion and sharing portions of the retreat, to protect the privacy of those joining live.
