Review & Release the Year: A Conversation with WITHIN Teachers

  • WITHIN Meditation Online via Zoom (Online) (map)

Each month, we invite the teachers at WITHIN to offer wisdom and inspiration around a particular topic. In December, we’re talking about how and why to review & release the year.

On December 16th, three of our teachers will get together for an informal conversation on Zoom exploring this month’s theme: Tessa Jonson, Kellie Aponte and Desiree Matloob. Whether you join them live 10-11am PST / 1-2pm EST, or listen to the recording afterwards, you’re sure to get a variety of perspectives and ideas to nourish your meditation practice.

Anyone can submit a question ahead of time for the teachers - just fill out this quick form. We also welcome your questions live! Please note, during the conversation we will record both the questions submitted and the responses from the teachers. If you’d prefer that we not mention your name, be sure to indicate that on the form or when you type your question in the Zoom chat.

This conversation will be held online via Zoom; the link will be provided to you via email when you register. Registration is $15.

If you’re a WITHIN Member, this is included in your membership - email us for the promo code!

Tessa Jonson

Tessa is a yoga and meditation instructor, specializing in Yoga Nidra. A Wisconsin native turned global nomad, she wandered for years, avoiding the status quo and instead searching for a meaningful life. Finally she tried yoga - and subsequently meditation - through a 30 day online challenge and immediately knew that she'd found what she'd been looking for. The practice has since transformed her life completely, both inside and out.

Now, Tessa finds the greatest pleasure and deepest fulfillment in sharing and teaching all things related to the practices and philosophies of Yoga and, in particular, Yoga Nidra meditation. She is passionate about making meditation accessible to everyone and feels like she is here to guide others to their own space of presence, healing, and divinity. Although she is primarily a private instructor, she also runs The Never Settle Society with her husband - a community and coaching program that helps people figure out what they want to do with their lives. She loves fluffy kitties, the Grateful Dead, wandering in nature, and homemade tamales.

Kellie Aponte

When Kellie no longer wanted to accept anxiety and stress in her daily life, she started her meditation journey, focusing on learning different styles of meditation and mindfulness.

Fast forward to 2022, she decided it was time to take her practice a step further, and teach.

After graduating from The Chopra Center, Kellie has dedicated a large part of her life to teaching people how simple, effortless, and easy meditation can be - if they are open to the journey.

"I've experienced such a tremendous transformation, that it's motivated me to share this information. That's what I'm called to do right now and I must honor that." - Kellie

Desiree Matloob

Desiree is a national board-certified health & wellness coach, behavioral health consultant, and mindfulness teacher who is passionate about using mindfulness and coaching to help people clarify what matters most to them, work through limiting beliefs, and take action in their lives. She has been practicing meditation since 2009, and since 2016 has made a yearly 10-day silent meditation (Vipassana) retreat a part of her personal practice. She has led mindfulness workshops, classes, and strategy within various workplaces and community-based organizations.

In addition to her work with individuals, Desiree is passionate about the power of groups to create connection and catalyze personal transformation. She is currently a group health coach for One Medical's stress management and metabolic health programs, a career & leadership coach at The Grand, and hosts regular women's circles and mindful communication groups in San Francisco. She is passionate about creating environments -- whether in her meditation classes, her coaching, or her group work -- that encourage self-reflection, authentic connection, and insights that lead to growth.
